Connecting school librarians and school libraries

I would appreciate it if you shared your best idea to draw students' attention to classic literature. I work in a secondary high-school in Greece, and have been trying a couple of things, from the Library Angel, to films and books, World Days, enthusiastic comments on books, starting a Book Club, but still, I see teenagers' reluctance to read a good novel, their dread of a bulky book. Next school year I am thinking of doing some craftwork with objects mentioned in novels. like this student's attempt on Alice in Wonderland. Do you like it? Well, she enjoyed making it, but DIDN'T READ THE BOOK!!

Hi
Have you tried the GiggleIT Project for an idea to get students in a creative mood.
This is not just about small children's books, myths, classic stories form all greek culture can be used here as an innovative tool to motivate reading and writing.

Pat Carmichael
