Connecting school librarians and school libraries

Canadian School Libraries

Does anyone know the history of teacher-librarianship in Canada? What happened to school librarians who managed school libraries and who taught information literacy skills in their school libraries? The school libraries in Canada are in crisis. If schools can't afford a teacher-librarian in their school libraries then employ librarians. We have a master's degree and we know about school libraries. Get the university information faculties to offer extra courses on teaching information literacy skills if this is what separates librarians from teacher-librarians but keep the school libraries open!
