Hello Leslie,

Please could you tell me more about what it is you are asking for as regards International Baccalaureate librarian and/or library standards?
And, who is the man in Turkey with a starting document?

As an IB librarian I know that there are no specific documents for librarians and libraries but there are the 'IB Standards and Practices' which includes statements about the libraries as well as many implied expectations. I have also given several presentation on this in Europe and at the IBAP Conference in Singapore two years ago.
Please could you give me more details. my email address is iskirrow@vis.ac.at if you would like to contact me directly.
Thank you,
Ingrid

So, folks, how are you progressing on the Baccalaureate librarian and/or library standards? I thought that "our man in Turkey" had a starting document. Also, there are standards/statements at IFLA about school libraries. Have you mapped student outcomes/standards with library skills? We need to have something to present in Italy....

I started a discussion about resources for MYP/PP and IB/EE just now. Anyone who can help out?

Naaz,
thanks for the detailed answer to my query. This might be happening in International Schools. How about other school libraries? dont you think we need to understand how students of other countries or education boards might pick their author choice? I think we should ask our counterparts in other schools.

Dear all,
Can we take up a study to understand the childrens' choice of authors and their works other than the ones from their native countries? what might be their criteria in choosing a foreign author and his work? what factors work to introduce foreign authors? and many other questions like that?
I am curious to know the reasons and methods of choice of children in different countries.
