Hi again,
You have change your picture, looking very relax .Glad to know that you are planning to Automate your library. Its a high time and your school can afford to do that. There are two good library software which i would like to suggest you according to my experience, LIBSIS and SLIM. LBSNAA and Woodstock Library is using LIBSIS, you can go and have a look at it. For SLIM software, Songsten Library at Shas dara road, They are using the SLIM software, They will give you all the details. We are using ALICE but its not upto the mark. You should also introduce OPAC system after automation. To prepare children for the world they should have an opportunity to expose to all sorts of technolgy. Information is available in different formats and form. Children should know how, when and where to find the required information. School should help students to equip with these skills. Being a Librarian the most valuable skills that you can impart to your student is Learning how to learn. I would like to quote here the few lines by the great futurist Alvin Toffler: >"The Illiterate of the twenty frist century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who can not learn, unlearn, and relearn".My Email ID: n_tenzin2001@yahoo.com

Hellow Mr.Kurian,
Well come to IASL meeting forum. It was good to see some one from the Queen of Hills. I worked in THF as Librarian for many years. I have visited your library several times. We met once or twice. But you will not recognise me.You are very senior to me. I know Mr.Jampa(PET), Ruma Sen(English Teacher) and few more which i dont remember. At present I am in Mumbai as librarian in Ecole Mondiale World School(IB). How is your school and your library?
Regards,
N.Tenzin
