Ngawang,

I was just busy with a lot of things that is why I forgot to log in. I wanted to share our activities in the school too. I will share them one at a time. With regards to conference, I still have to share this networks with other librarians. Besides, I don't work in International School setting, its a local but private school.

Cheers,

Ann

Hello Ngawang,
Thanks for your message. I will not be one of the trainers in Hongkong - it will be someone from the IB AP region - I am in the IBAEM region ( Africa, Europe and MiddleEast). I am sure you will be made very welcome though and that you will thoroughly enjoy the experience.
Best Wishes,
Ingrid

Hi again,
Thanks for your response and glad to know that you are very active and doing great job as librarian.
I thing Tina Ambani is the owner of your school. Anyways! Information Literacy is part of IBMYP programme(Approaches to learning). Mostly IGCSE school's never encourage to teach IL above all,for senior classes there is no library period in most of the schools. So how do you manage to take classes for teaching Information Literacy in the Higher Grades.Do you follow any IL scope and sequence? Keep going and you are doing great job. Keep in touch

Yes I take lectures for classes , I teach information Literacy for higher grade and do different activity with primary classes , I work with the teachers and their unit make according to the unit when their library classes are there i help them out by giving resources they want, For smaller children i do read aloud stories and make them see maximum visual things so that they take interest and enjoy.

Thank you Tenzin for that valuble information. The librarian at woodstock is a good friend of mine Mrs Sue Swanson, They were using Libsiys but now they have changed into some american software system since the company was not able to upgrade and backup service which is not upto the mark.We are now installing an integrated software system from the school Campus care by Entab infotech which has a library module. They have supplied the software in many leading schools in India and abroad. We are now trying out this software and seems to be quite ok.We are in the process of barcoding books and barcoded Id for students and staff.
