Hello everyone out there!

"I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library." (Borges)

So where can it be better to work in than in a library?
Working in a library is more like "just a job" - for me it's a mission.

I can't forget the mum I lent books to for her daughers presentation about genetics "Thank you! She got a 1!" or the kid which is always interested in videos and dvds and never in books. After our "Scary night in the library" he suddenly likes to have more of those "damn cool" books called "Der Gruselbus"...

I loved to work in a public library. Every day different customers, different questions.
Questions à la "Where can I find the Bahamas?!" "Oh, you don't have to search for them, the're already discoverd..!"

Since last year I'm with Dantek. A Danish software firm which supports school libraries. Last year and this year I visited a few school libraries in Denmark and I was really impressed about their work. I also visited school libraries in Berlin and Brandenburg and spoke with the personnel about their daily work.

When I'm not working I spend my time with my daughter and my husband.
I like to read (what a surprise for a librarian, hm?) and doing some sports and online gaming.
At the moment I'm working on an article about artificail intelligence and why it can be important for information retrieval.

Potsdasm war mit Berlin früh durch eine Eisenbahnlinie verbunden. Angesichts der heutigen Situation ist das Internet wohl zuverlässiger.
