Good to join this community of school library fans! I see a couple of friends from Greece have already joined. Looking forward to fruitful discussions!
Hi helen,
thank you for your reply. I would love to see a school from Greece register for the GiggleIT Project. We would all like to know about your schools and I am sure your children would like to see their work and ideas on the website. I think that humour does differ from country to country but yes there must be some common threads, as you said. Cultural stories from different countries show us much about the people who live there and that is what this project is all about too, fostering cultural understanding.
Please encourage your schools to register. Kind regards, Pat.
Thank you, Pat! I visited the site and saw the very well-thought project. It is very interesting to see how different cultures express humour. We, for one, didn't always hit it off with our European colleagues. Our senses of humour differed linguistically (mainly because we are not native English speakers) but when it comes to non-linguistic humour (i.e. Mr Bean), I think everyone would understand.
Hello and welcome!
Has anyone from Greece heard of the GiggleIT Project? Please join us as part of the IASL's Childrens and Young Adult Literature Special Interest group here on the NING. Look at what we have created:
