Connecting school librarians and school libraries

SPECIAL MOMENTS AND SPECIAL INITIATIVES
Special moments in Italy and interesting talks with Bernadete Campello and Albert Boekhorst resulted in special initiatives to promote school librarianship in Brazil. The Stichting het Da Vinci Huis, a foundation presided by IASL member Alber Boekhorst is incentivating school librarians from Brazil to participate in our organization and attend the conferences in Brisbane. This certainly will call attention to our work and important contributions to school librarianship, but most imortant of all, it will bring new ideas and members. A similar fund has also been started in South Africa.

At the moment, I am starting a committee to organize and promote the fund and Bernadet Campello from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and Eliana Fiorvante Garcez from the Unversity of Santa Catarina, will help with the selection. If anyone out there can help with ideas and suggestions, please join us.
