Connecting school librarians and school libraries

We  want to share  the activities planned for the reading week.

We would like to get some feedback from other schools.

The activities of the “Reading Week “ (“Semana da Leitura ) 2012, included in the National Reading Plan of our school ( Agrupamento de Escolas de Celeirós, Braga) took place in March ( 19th to 23rd March ).
The planned activities were diverse and intended to involve the whole school community. Reading invites reflection and contributes to our emotive and intellectual development.
The Book Fair ( used books ), the Peddy-paper, entitled “The Return of Ulysses “( with students of the 6th and 7th grades ) the night of Fado ( with the presence of Isilda Miranda, our ex- student ) , the writing workshop ( based on the book "The tree of sweets," by M ª do Rosário Alçada) , the commemoration of the Forest and Poetry days ,the reading expressive contest ( with students from the 2nd and 3rd grades), the presentation of the folktale "Stone Soup" adapted to the theatre by the students of the class 6th G, the meeting with the writer "Palmira Martins" (3rd class students )and stories told and sung by an ex teacher António Castanheira (public: students of EB1 and JI of Cruz ) made this week special
Classes 6th A, 6th B and 6th F showed  three short plays taken from the book "Theatre at 3 strokes" by António Torrado.
